The story
Garage Door Kings started in 2015 with one truck, one technician — Marcus Reed — and one rule: never quote a job before seeing it, never charge for a fix that wasn't needed. Eleven years later we're three trucks, four technicians, and the same rule.
Marcus spent eight years working for two of the bigger Las Vegas garage door franchises before going out on his own. The pattern he saw over and over was the same one most homeowners see now: an emergency call, a tech who'd never met you, a quote that doubled once they were on site, parts upsells you didn't ask for. Marcus left to build the opposite kind of company.
How we work
Up-front pricing. We tell you the diagnostic fee on the phone. Once we're on site, we tell you the full quote in writing before any work begins. If the job changes (rare), we stop and re-quote — we never just keep working and present a bigger bill.
The right fix, not the biggest fix. If your spring is broken but your opener is fine, we replace the spring. If your door is 25 years old and the panels are about to fail, we'll tell you — but we won't pressure you into replacing it before you're ready.
Clean trucks, clean techs. Every technician wears a uniform, drives a marked truck, and carries ID. Most of our customers tell us we feel less like contractors and more like a service company. That's by design.
Five-year warranty on everything. Parts and labor. If something we installed fails inside that window, we replace it free. We can do that because we use commercial-grade parts that outlast the cheap stock most companies install.
The team
Marcus Reed — Founder and lead installer. Marcus handles every new-door install personally and oversees the team. 20+ years in the trade, NV State Contractors Board licensed.
Diego Ruiz — Senior technician. Diego is the customer favorite — six years with Garage Door Kings, a near-perfect record on first-visit fixes, and the guy you want showing up when your spring breaks at 11 PM.
Trent Walker — Technician. Trent runs most of our emergency dispatch and is the one most likely to be the one calling you back when you submit a request after hours.
Licensed, bonded, insured
Nevada State Contractors Board #00789432. Bonded for $50,000. Liability insurance through The Hartford. Workers' comp on every employee. We carry copies of all of it in the trucks — ask any time.
Why the name
"Garage Door Kings" wasn't ego — it was a promise to ourselves about how we'd treat customers. A king's craft is honest, careful, and built to last. That's the standard we hold each other to.
