Every Velonyx plan ends the same way: after your 12th monthly payment (or a paid year), your AI front desk is yours — legally and technically. This page answers the questions people ask about that, honestly.

1. What exactly do I own?

After 12 payments you can ask us to transfer your system to accounts you control. You receive:

Your customer data, content, domain, and phone number are yours from day one regardless. What you don't get: Velonyx's master template (you receive a perpetual license to the copy inside your system) and the right to resell the platform to others.

2. Do I have to take it?

No. Most clients keep Velonyx running it after year one — $70 / $150 / $350 a month covers hosting, security updates, the AI usage in your plan, support, and improvements. Taking it is your right, not a requirement. Think of the promise as insurance: nobody can switch off your front desk — not a platform, and not us.

3. If I take it, what do I have to manage?

Being your own hosting company. Concretely, four or five accounts and bills:

Service What it does Typical cost
Vercel Hosts the website and the AI's brain-to-channels plumbing ~$20 / month
Supabase Your database and portal logins $0–25 / month
Twilio Your phone number, texts, and calls ~$5–15 / month plus usage
Anthropic The AI model itself, billed on usage ~$5–20 / month at typical volumes
Voice relay server (Elite only) Real-time audio for the phone agent ~$5–10 / month

So roughly $30–60 a month in third-party bills, plus someone to keep the knowledge base current and to handle the occasional vendor change (an expired card, an API update). Two one-time chores are unavoidable when a phone number or Meta app changes hands: re-verifying the toll-free number under your brand, and possibly re-submitting Meta's app review. We walk you through both on the transfer call.

4. How would I run it day to day?

Exactly as you do now. The AI keeps answering; you use the same portal on your phone; bookings still land on your calendar. Nothing changes in the running of it — only who pays the vendor bills and who fixes things when they break.

5. Who fixes it if something breaks?

Any web developer. Your system is a standard Next.js / TypeScript application in a normal GitHub repository — the most common web stack in the world, not a proprietary black box. Options: hire a freelancer, ask Velonyx at our hourly rate ($95/hr), or simply come back onto a maintenance plan.

6. Can I change it or build on it?

Yes. Everyday changes — hours, prices, FAQ answers, greetings, who gets alerts — are settings, not code. Bigger changes (new pages, new integrations, a different AI model) are ordinary development work any developer or AI coding assistant can do in the repo. You may modify it freely for your own business; you may not resell it as a platform.

7. What does the transfer actually look like?

One call, about an hour, plus a few free accounts you create beforehand (GitHub, Supabase, Vercel, Google, Twilio). We move the repo, transfer the database live, deploy on your Vercel, re-point your domain, hand over the calendar, port the number if you're leaving entirely, move or recreate the Meta app, rotate every secret while you watch, run the full smoke test on your deployment, remove our login — and shake hands. The procedure is written down and followed step by step.

8. What if I stop paying before month 12?

Then the transfer hasn't been earned yet — your service ends at the end of the paid period, and during the first 12 months the unpaid build portion of your plan is due (see the Refund Policy). Your data stays exportable for 30 days either way, and your domain, number, and social accounts are released to you.

8A. What if something happens to Velonyx?

Fair question to ask a small company. Your system runs on big cloud providers, not on our laptop, so nothing stops by itself. And it is written into your contract (Terms §12A / MSA §6.9): if Velonyx cannot continue — for any reason, at any point, even in your first month — your system is handed to you at no charge, with any remaining build balance waived, by a named continuity contact who holds emergency access to our credentials and our written handoff procedure. You are contacted within 14 days and the transfer is completed within 30. Your phone number, web address, social accounts, calendar, and customer data are yours the whole time and can never be taken by anyone else.

9. Why does Velonyx do this?

Because every other AI-receptionist company rents you a system that disappears the day you stop paying. We'd rather earn the monthly fee by being worth it — and let you own the asset you paid to build. Clients who know they can leave are the ones who stay.
